"The inspiration for Sue’s colourful paintings comes from the moorland landscape that surrounds her. She continues to explore the theme of walking and sketching as she sees this as a fundamental connection to the land. Through her on-site drawings, she observes the way even familiar landscapes change according to points along a journey.

Her current work takes a familiar location and explores different aspects of the artist’s emotional responses to that place, attempting to harmonise what she sees with her ambition to achieve expressive colours."
