This is a new Annual Report for year 2013/14. It sets out the measures by which North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service checks how it is performing.

This Corporate Plan, spanning a three year period from 2013/14 to 2015/6, is part of a suite of corporate documents that collectively underpin our approach and provide an outline of how, in the medium term, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service delivers the protection from fire and other emergencies across our communities in the City of York and North Yorkshire. The plan sets out how decisions are made and financed, and what is planned for the three-year period covered by the Plan.

Our Integrated Risk Management Plan sets out how we propose to maintain our previous success and protect the people and communities of North Yorkshire and the City of York whilst finding ways to develop our service so that we can meet the demands of the future with a flexible and innovative fire and rescue service.
Between the 2nd and 5th July 2013 North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service undertook an Operational Assessment and Peer Challenge conducted by an external Fire & Rescue peer challenge team.

This report captures the outcomes and presents the key findings from the Local Government Association’s (LGA’s) Fire Peer Challenge at North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service in July 2013
